From the very beginning, Melbourne Browncoats have taken part in the global charity event “Can’t Stop the Serenity”. Since 2006, our local charity events have contributed to the raising of over US$400,000 for Equality Now. In 2010 we’re celebrating the global event’s 5th Anniversary with a shindig that’s going to be bigger and better than ever before!

LIVE AUCTION
There will be five incredible items up for grabs in this year’s Live Auction. A selection of prizes are listed below, and we’ll be adding a few more soon. Winning bidders must pay in cash at the conclusion of the auctions.

SERENITY POSTER SIGNED BY JOSS WHEDON
This poster was signed by Joss Whedon on the set of Cabin in the Woods in Vancouver in 2009. It measures 11″x17″ (29cm x 43cm) and is signed in silver ink. The poster was obtained directly from Universal Studios in 2005 during a pre-release event in Los Angeles.

JAYNE PACK

This pack is a must for Jayne fans. It features an autographed photo of Adam Baldwin as Jayne, a hand knitted Jayne hat (made with love by Kat, who advises that it’s made of seriously expensive 100% wool hand dyed in Wales, is not machine washable and it will shrink like a shrinkydink if it’s chucked in the wash), plus postcards featuring Adam Baldwin in the original Jayne hat and a stylised Jayne by FireflyStore.net.

SERENITY SCHEMATICS
Created by Avitech Graphics in California, this amazing piece features Serenity and details her schematics. This is not a poster, it is a reflective, engraved piece of aluminium. It measures 12″x24″, is mounted on black foam core and ready for framing. Photos do not truly convey this stunning piece of art, so check out a sample of Avitech’s work on YouTube.

DOLLHOUSE
Catch up on Season 1 of Joss Whedon’s latest foray into Television with this Region 1 set of Dollhouse. Not yet released in Australia, this box set has been signed by Dollhouse stars, Eliza Dushku, Dichen Lachman and Summer Glau.

DR HORRIBLE STARTER KIT
Every evil villain needs a starting point, and we’ve got you covered with the Evil League of Evil Villainous Starter Kit. Featuring a Dr Horrible t-shirt (“You are not my nemisis”), spy micro listener and villiany gloves. You’ll also score Issue 1 of the Dr Horrible comic written by Zack Whedon and Joelle Jones (with both alternative covers) so you can learn from the newest inductee to the Evil League of Evil.

CASTLE
Castle fans will love this prize! Direct from San Diego Comic-Con 2010, this aluminium drink bottle was only available to fans who endured hours of long lines to attend the Castle panel featuring the cast and creative team.

TRUE BLOOD PACK
The latest vampires on the block are the gang from True Blood, and this pack covers it all… and it’s all direct from San Diego Comic-Con. It features a “Bewere” True Blood t-shirt, True Blood bandaids, promo postcard set (11 cards), Charlaine Harris’ “Club Dead” True Blood novel (all from SDCC 2010) and a True Blood comic (from SDCC 2009). Get your fill of the latest vampire/shapeshifter/werewolf television sensation!

BUFFY & ANGEL COLLECTION
A must for fans of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Angel: The Series, this fantastic pack contains a Spike calendar signed by James Marsters (autographed at Armageddon Melbourne 2010), a San Diego Comic-Con 2008 Exclusive WB bag featuring Buffy and Angel (plus the stars of many other WB shows), and a Buffy: Season 8 comics poster. You’ll alo receive a selection of nine tie-in novels for Buffy and Angel.
